Hi,

College friend of mine studied with has been providing a higher education for the same trading name in last 7 years. Yet operated under 3 different company names during this period. Now he wanted to get his Diploma for the course he finished in 2008 but they said can't award him. As they explained cause it's different legal entity.

Funny thing is that this college directors & management are still same people, even the same website, email & tel no as 2008.

As mentioned on this article as 3rd point, they have failed to demonstrate ABC trades as XYZ. Nowever else on their website. Whole thing seems very bogus. As they have same reputations in the past...not too mention it.

Kindly advise what actions ought to be taken against this College. In a other word need some advise on this matter.

Many Thanks.

The start-up video is excellent!

I wonder just how many web designers ask those sorts of questions when they're building websites for their customers… Not many I think is the answer! in the video it was very interesting.

It it was also very interesting that the advice by Google on the start-up video was to build a 50 page website unless it's an e-commerce site... I would have expected the advice to have been more than this?

Hi,
If you opened up a your business and called yourself 'doggy daycare' when there is already an existing business with this name in your area you could be challenged in court for 'passing off'.

It would make more sense to use a different name, such as 'daycare4dogs2' as your trading name.

So you would be 'doggy daycare ltd' trading as 'daycare4dogs2'.

Thanks

I am trying to set up a second daycare. I have the company name doggy daycare ltd but in the area i am trying to open there is already a doggie daycare. I am unaware if i can open calling myself doggy daycare but i also would not want people to get confused. Would i be able to open trading as daycare4dogs2 (even though the limited companies would be seperate) - my current daycare is called daycare4dogs.

Thanks in advance

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have just read an article on your website (written by Peter) titled "How to find start-up business grants, loans and investments" which I found very interesting, however to myself, most seemed to be unrelated to my specific concern. I wonder if you would be able to provide any advice regarding my current situation;

I am a UK citizen currently working with a US partner in Ethiopia, where I have been based for the past year. We are in the process of establishing a private company working in the water supply sector; for which there is a significant need of development within. The government accepts and has published its concerns regarding the need to develop the capacity of private sector water sourcing companies in order to meet its development goals in this sector.

Whilst the above-mentioned article was aimed specifically at start-up companies within the UK, are you able to offer any advice regarding the acquisition of grants, loans or investments for private companies looking to work within international development?

Any comments or thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Alexander Murray

There are rumours that the age limit may be scrapped but there is no timescale for this at the moment - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22499910

I think the biggest advantage of limited company is the fact that there is limited liability for the shareholders.
