HM Revenue & Customs have just recently made an update on their site with regards to Lord Carter of Coles recommendation that all submissions related to Tax and VAT be made online in the future. With regard to filing and registering for VAT, the statistics show a steady increase over the last few years.

HMRC also state that from April 1st of this year, it will be a compulsory requirement on all businesses to file their VAT returns online.
